Creature of the Light #21

Today was our frozen independence day in Argentina, we wore scarves, rosettes with our national colours, and drank hot cocoa in the cold while we listened to the bands playing songs in the streets; every country have different traditions --rituals, heroes, and solidarity are three nice things to make us feel as one with the community.

This is my post 600, and with this I leave for a while. Tomorrow I'm off on a deserved winter vacation to the summery side of the world, to shake this cold off of me and get in touch again with the heat, and with the hot. :-)

Read the poem; an illuminated writer, a person reaching an epiphany about the mind and the heart wrote it, so she deserves that respect. I tried my best to reach a figurative image with abstract means --remember nothing here is hand-modeled: A heart with a hole, in a warm colour (the heart) surrounded by a cold colour (the mind).
This might as well, be the end of the serie of the Creatures of the Light; I've not been able to do anything better than this one in months.

See ya! Frog out. And a frog pout:

Said the Lion to the Lioness-'When you are amber dust,-
No more a raging fire like the heat of the Sun
(No liking but all lust)-
Remember still the flowering of the amber blood and bone,
The rippling of bright muscles like a sea,
Remember the rose-prickles of bright paws
Though the fire of that sun the heart and the moon-cold bone are one.'

Said the Skeleton lying upon the sands of Time-
'The great gold planet that is the mourning heat of the Sun
Is greater than all gold, more powerful
Than the tawny body of a Lion that fire consumes
Like all that grows or leaps...so is the heart

More powerful than all dust. Once I was Hercules
Or Samson, strong as the pillars of the seas:
But the flames of the heart consumed me, and the mind
Is but a foolish wind.'

Said the Sun to the Moon-'When you are but a lonely white crone,
And I, a dead King in my golden armour somewhere in a dark wood,
Remember only this of our hopeless love
That never till Time is done
Will the fire of the heart and the fire of the mind be one.'

Dame Edith Sitwell, "Heart and Mind".

Enjoy your vacation in the warmth! I had to laugh when I read your post. I'm sitting here with air conditioning blasting out cool air, and several fans humming away. We're supposed to hit 111F this weekend.

Have fun in the sun!!!

"And when you smile for the camera, you know their gonna love you..."

Hope you had or are having fun on your vacation C.
