The Uraeus, or raging cobra, is one symbol of the feminine creative force; it has a talisman that anyone can see carved in the forehead of deities of the ancient egypt. It stands for a meaning of royal spirit (or divine authority), wisdom and healing. The uraeus hieroglyphic is the sign of the goddess in pagan beliefs. Pharaohs wear it as a head ornament, and was part of the crown.
The eyes of Re are said to be Uraei, or plural for raging cobras.
I was working on emulated glass effects through interactive genetic algorithms, trying to find something opposite to the fragility of crystal, so one uraeus looked perfect, just to give it balance; femininity (in the most classic way, ok?) in the vitraux effect fragility and cold colours, and masculinity not anywhere. :-)
It is a work dedicated in return to Amber, who made the dedication first, I think you know, friend, what all this symbols are about. Just now I find the time to write and publish.
I also have this another version in warm colours palette, more "masculine" colours in the same classic sense, to give it better balance; and it was difficult to choose the first version between them:
Also this one in cold and warm colours:
Also this wallpaper version:
Also this metallic wallpaper twilight version:
All in 1280x960 downloadables.
Cheers.

I am partial to the 'silvery' version. It's so crisp and clear. I also like the Uraeus reference. I've always enjoyed ancient Egyptian mythology.
Thanks for your visit and your kind words, Deborah.
Yeah, ancient egyptians knew how to have one circle of beliefs, like ancient greeks knew too. :-)
Colours on the first one are perfect! They complement the form and are nice and soothing. Very well done.
See, I have to go against everybody else who has commented thus far.. I really love the second one. :-)
Thank you Jenny G.! Obviously you are a trusted visual arts beholder.
Amber, all of them are yours to have, of course. Thank you friend. :-)
